Our Doctors
Dr Banumathi Thangavel
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Dr Banu Thangavel graduated from the University of Madras, India in 1982. In 1991, she moved to Australia from Kenya after working as a GP for seven successful years in Kenya. She completed her FRACGP in 1998. She has done Diploma in Child Health. She has done her Implanon insertion training in 2001 and Mirena insertion training in 2014. Her interests are in family medicine and women's health including gynaecology and paediatrics with a special interest in antenatal care, skin, geriatrics and diabetes.
Dr Dayal Kumarage
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Dr Dayal Kumarage graduated from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, in 1992. He relocated to the UK in 2001, finished his general practise vocational training and became a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners UK in 2004. He completed Postgraduate Diploma in clinical dermatology at University of London in 2007. He moved to Australia in 2008 to continue his career as a GP. He is interested in all areas of family medicine, including obstetrics and paediatrics with special interest in dermatology.
Dr Adam Huber
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Dr Adam Huber graduated from University of New South Wales in 2009. His areas of special interest include paediatrics, indigenous health and chronic disease. His comprehensive expertise and dedication to patient care makes him an invaluable asset to the medical community.
Dr Lina Saleem
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Dr Lina has a wealth of experience spanning over two decades. She has done her Fellowship from Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2016. She has a diverse range of special interests, including Women's Health, Antenatal Care, Mental Health, ATSI Health and Preventive Health.
Dr Mohamad Morad
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Dr Morad grew up in the St George area and completed his medical training at the University of Sydney and the University of Queensland. He has worked across Wollongong and Sutherland Hospitals, as well as GP clinics throughout Sydney and the NSW South Coast.
He has special interests in preventative medicine, in particular heart disease prevention.
Dr Elsayed Ahmad
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Dr. Elsayed Ahmed is a General Practitioner and Critical Care Specialist with over 20 years of experience. He has special interests in skin cancer medicine, chronic disease management, and emergency care.
Dr. Ahmed offers expertise in skin cancer surgery, minor procedures, and mental health support. He is committed to preventive, patient-focused care and delivering high-quality outcomes across all stages of health.
Dr Sylvia Tomson
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Dr Sylvia Tomson holds a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (2000) and an AMC Certificate (1995). She completed her medical degree at the University of Baghdad in 1979 and brings decades of experience in comprehensive patient care. She has special interests in family medicine, women’s health, and children’s care, bringing extensive experience to her patient-centred practice.

Silvia Dawson
REGISTERED NURSE
Silvia has over 40 years of experience as a registered nurse. Her experience has been in acute care settings such as accident emergency and critical care. She has completed her graduate diploma in critical care and master’s in health leadership and management. She is also passionate about educating patient on their conditions, treatment options and including them in all aspects of their care.
Pilar Otero
REGISTERED NURSE
Pilar has over 41 years of experience and has worked the past 16 years in general practices. She is an accredited nurse immuniser and has Certificate in Intensive care/ Acute care and Certificate IV in workplace assessment. She enjoys every aspect of general practice and gives importance to the difference she can bring to the patients in the primary care sector.
Megan Arnold
MIDWIFE
Megan is a registered nurse and a midwife. She has gained experience in all areas of midwifery care and has special interest in antenatal care and women’s health. She is passionate about midwifery much more than her career. She is also privileged to support women and their families throughout their pregnancy journey.

Hayley Griggs
PODIATRIST
Hayley graduated from Western Sydney University in 2004 and has been working as a podiatrist for about 20 years. She has accumulated a wide range of experience in the Illawarra region's public and private sectors. She has also been employed at the high-risk foot clinic for diabetics. She has worked in the podiatry department of the Illawarra Shoalhaven local health district and has managerial experience. Hayley is a competent podiatrist who prioritises the requirements and care of each patient. She is polite, approachable, compassionate, and professional.
Nalini Deshpande
DIETITIAN
In the last 23 years Nalini has worked as an APD in Wollongong and Sydney region. Her main area of work includes nutrition, dietary and lifestyle modifications advice for managing diabetes and
gastroenterological dietary problems outside hospital management. She also has keen interest in sports nutrition. She understands the global priority of lifestyle
modifications for avoiding the risk of dementia.
Beshara Moubayed
PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Beshara is a dedicated physiotherapist with a Doctor of Physiotherapy from Macquarie University. He specializes in musculoskeletal, occupational, NDIS, and aged care physiotherapy, offering expert assessments, functional screenings, manual therapy, and dry needling. He provides tailored treatment for conditions like Parkinson’s, chronic pain, sports injuries, post-surgical recovery, and neurological rehabilitation. Committed to a holistic approach, Beshara collaborates with doctors and allied health teams to deliver personalized, evidence-based care that helps patients achieve their goals.
